CHENNAI: The Madras high court on Wednesday granted parole to Mohammed Ansari, a Coimbatore bomb blast case life convict, to make arrangements for his daughter's marriage.

A division bench of Justices C T Selvam and N Sathishkumar granted the parole on a plea moved by Ansari's wife M Samsunisha.

Allowing the plea, the high court has directed the superintendent of central prison, Coimbatore, to release Ansari on parole from April 10 to 30.

According to the petitioner, their elder daughter's wedding is scheduled on April 16, and hence the presence of her father is necessary to perform certain ceremonies.
