AMERICANA
Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit are influenced by the soul music of Alabama and traditional country sounds, leading to rich song writing and a strong reputation within the Americana scene. A decades-long British tradition, the Proms, finds its way to the Arts Centre for the third year running. Inspired by a real event, Colder explores grief, loss and what happens to those left behind when someone goes missing. Coonara Springs takes guests on a guided hands-on tour of the working kitchen gardens to inspire and teach about how food is produced and harvested. Set amongst a hills location overlooking the Yarra Valley, a chef will share the secrets of the farm gate with a smoking demonstration in the smokehouse before dishing up a harvest lunch showcasing the best of the farm's produce. Momo Fest returns to the Coburg Velodrome in an explosion of flavour this weekend. More than 30 varieties of momos, Nepalese dumplings, will be available including a range of meat, vegetarian and vegan options. The festival embraces Nepalese culture with live music, dancers, workshops and a celebration of holi colours, signifying the victory of good over evil. Free entry but donations towards the MIT Group Foundation will help build schools in Nepal.
