Delhi: UPSC aspirant kidnaps five-year-old for Rs 20 lakh ransom, arrested

A UPSC aspirant was arrested on Wednesday for abducting a five-year-old boy for ransom.
Asif Saifi, who has a B-tech and M-tech degree and is preparing for UPSC exams, said that he was inspired from the movies Singham and Tezz.
He intended to hide the boy till receiving the ransom money, but one call from a borrowed phone ruined his plan. Dilshad Ahmad's son went missing on March 12 and he received a phone call demanding `20 lakh for release.
"Subsequently, we formed a team headed by Additional DCP Rajendra Meena. When an SIT official contacted on the number from which the ransom call was made, a man said a passersby borrowed his phone and there was a child with him," said DCP AK Singla.
Based on last location of the phone call, SIT team reached Dadri and inquired about the boy and eventually got success. Saifi was arrested from Dadri bus stand.
