ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) — A middle school teacher has been charged with possession of child pornography.
The Arlington County Police Department has identified the 56-year-old suspect as Robert Keith Rowe. He works at Sandburg Middle School in Fairfax County.
Rowe was taken into custody after officers executed a search warrant at his Arlington home. He's being held without bond at a lockup.
In a Thursday statement, police say they have found no evidence amid an ongoing investigation to suggest that the suspect had inappropriate contact with children. It was not immediately clear if Rowe had a lawyer.
Police say an Arlington detective assigned to a regional task force investigating online crimes against children started to investigate Rowe's online activities after receiving a tip about possible criminal behavior. More specifics were not immediately disclosed.
