The Aam Adami Party (AAP) is waiting for the verdict of Jharkhand High Court (HC) which is expected to come today. The party has filed a writ in Jharkhand HC on March 6 seeking permission to fight municipal elections 2018.
According to party, State Committee Member, Rajan Kumar Singh, due to the pre-planned norms of Department of Urban Development, Housing and Planning, AAP cannot contest the municipal poll-2018. Besides, putting allegation on BJP, AAP members have blamed Minister, Urban Development, Planning and Housing predominately for the muddle and conspiracy behind.
Singh during a press meet on Wednesday said, “Intentionally AAP has been kept out of this municipal election. Political parties which are not affiliated to States but are recognised everywhere can participate in the poll. Several states like Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh etc have this provision, however here in Jharkhand through conspiracy bringing in a few guidelines, AAP, Janta Dal United (JDU) including Communist Party of India (CPI-ML) have been targeted.”
“The party has filed the writ in Jharkhand HC after trying all possible measures and the prerequisites needed to contest the election. Every State has a provision of registration but here in Jharkhand, there is no such regulation of registration,” added Singh.
Also, during a press meet, members said that as many as 29 political parties here in Jharkhand are such which are at present lying defunct but has the consent to fight the municipal poll-2018 and are in race. According to the members of AAP, Division bench of Acting Chief Justice (ACJ), DN Patel will give the judgment on the case.
