Hubballi, in association with
Canada Consulate General, organized “Doing Business with Canada” event here on Wednesday.
Eric Robinson, Consul and Senior Trade Commissioner (South India), addressing the gathering, said that the Canada Consulate is looking for global prosperity, especially in South India for doing business with Canada.
“Canada’s population is 35 million and there is a lot similarity with India. There is huge scope for expanding business with Canada and India, thanks to conducive atmosphere for healthy trade. Indian traders and industrialists should come forward and establish their businesses as simple compliance procedure exists in Canada. It is very easy to start a business in Canada that you can get clearance in a day,” Robinson claimed.
He said that Canada is a rich industrial growth-oriented country, exporting 85% of its production to the US market. Robinson appealed to businessmen to avail the facilities and start doing business with Canada.
V P Linganagouder, president of KCCI, said that there is a potential for the growth of industry and trade in Hubballi-Dharwad. He said that automobile engineering, valve manufacturing, sheet metal processing, tool designing, rubber components, plastic moulding and processing, high precision machined components, conveyors and electric motor manufacturing are key industries of the twin cities.
“Doing business with Canada is an opportunity to identify and explore business relations in this part of Karnataka with mutual interest of Canada and Karnataka,” Linganagouder said.
Vinay J Javali, secretary of KCCI, vice-presidents Mahendra H Ladhad, Ashok T Tolanavar and G K Adappagoudar, joint honorary secretary Ashok Gadad and former president N P Javali were also present at the event.
