Takes charge as Cyberabad Commissioner of Police

Cyberabad Commissioner of Police V.C. Sajjanar, who assumed charge on Wednesday, said apart from basic policing and implementing technology initiatives, he has eight issues in his priority list that includes women and child safety, people-friendly policing and road safety. He said special focus would be on cyber crimes and human trafficking.

“As a large number of IT companies are under Cyberabad limits, we will focus on providing a safe environment for women working in these companies,” he said.

The Cyberabad police would also focus on crime hotspots and curb chain snatching and other offences, he said. “We will create awareness on prevention of economic and white-collar offences and lay focus on speedy disposal of court cases,” he said.

Mr. Sajjanar, an IGP-rank officer, succeeds Sandeep Shandilya, who was promoted and posted as Additional Director General of Police, Railways and Road Safety.

A 1996-batch IPS officer, he has served as IGP in Intelligence Department, and prior to that, he was DIG of the same wing.
