270 youth from northeastern states meet J-K governor

About 270 youth from northeastern states today met and Kashmir N N Vohra who invited them to visit the famous cave shrine of Mata in district.

The youth, including women, from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Manipur, Nagaland, and are here under the North East Youth Exchange Programme organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, and Kashmir, an official said.

The youth visited and met the Governor, who invited them to visit the shrine.

The governor, who is also the of Shri Mata Shrine Board, directed the officials concerned to make all arrangements for their visit and to treat them as guests of the board, the said.

Vohra said the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangthan could prepare documentaries of such cultural programmes and circulate them for viewing by school and college students in different states.

Highlighting the importance of youth exchange programmes, he said these are valuable for promoting understanding among people belonging to different areas of the country.
