Debbie McGee shares ‘miss you’ messages with Strictly Come Dancing co-star amid THAT gaffe

DEBBIE MCGEE was missing a Strictly Come Dancing co-star yesterday, just hours after she made an almighty mix-up during an appearance on The Wright Stuff.

The Strictly Come Dancing finalist exchanged heartfelt messages with Simon Rimmer on Twitter, after they met on the BBC show last year.

The 59-year-old was branded “Lady M” by the Sunday Brunch presenter after she responded to one of his earlier posts, which he shared with his 258,000 followers.

Debbie McGee couldn’t resist commenting after the chef, 54, revealed his son’s rather rude Mother’s Day card for his wife Ali.

“Hamish’s card to Ali yesterday. Class,” he wrote, alongside the offering which had, “Mum sorry for being an annoying little s**t” across the front.

Debbie showed her appreciation for the card, telling her own 38,000 followers: “Love it. Hope you are all well xx.”

Simon then replied: “All good Lady M - missing you x,” and she responded: “Miss you too xx.”

Unlike Debbie, the Channel 4 favourite’s time in Strictly was a little more short-lived, after he was eliminated in the sixth week alongside partner Karen Clifton.

Meanwhile, Paul Daniels’ widow was left red-faced while discussing the tragic loss of Stephen Hawking, before blaming the blunder on a “blonde moment”.

The former magician’s assistant had a guest presenting spot on Matthew Wright’s Channel 5 show and paid tribute to the theoretical physicist, who died aged 76 yesterday.

Debbie began: “Stephen Hawking died and his children have praised him for his courage and persistence, which I think is a great way to describe him.

“He was the first to have a theory of cosmology and all the things he achieved and he was diagnosed at the age of 22 with this rare form of motor neurone disease and told that he probably only had a few years to live at most.”

The Strictly finalist went on to read out some tweets from viewers, but was interrupted by Matthew.

“Yeah his books sold 10 million copies,” Matthew chipped in.

Debbie went on: “Yeah, yeah his book, The Theory of Relativity, wasn’t it?”

Thankfully, Matthew was on hand to help out, grinning: “I think that was Einstein.”

“Oh, yeah it was,” Debbie gasped. “I’m having a blonde moment.”

The Wright Stuff airs weekdays at 9.15am on Channel 5.
