Sobhi Still on My Mind, Says Stoke City's Coach Lambert

Stoke City's coach Paul Lambert said on Thursday that the team's Egyptian winger Ramadan Sobhi remains in his thoughts despite his lack of playing time with the Potters this season.

The 21-year-old played the last two minutes in his side's 2-0 loss to Premier League leaders Manchester City on Monday.

It was the first appearance for the Egyptian international since 20 January, when he played the last minute in the Potters' 2-0 win over Huddersfield in a Premier League game.

"I think he did well when he came on," Lambert told a news conference.

"He's ready to play. He's enthusiastic to play. He's got really good attributes, but also needs to look at certain aspects of the game.

"But he's got speed and he's in my thoughts."

Second-to-last Stoke City will host Everton on Saturday in a do-or-die mission with the Potters hoping to escape the relegation zone.

Despite his lack of playing time with Stoke, Pharaohs coach Hector Cuper named the player in his squad that will face Portugal and Greece this month in a World Cup warm-up.

Sobhi joined Stoke from Ahly in the summer of 2016, making 22 appearances in all competitions so far.
