Nagpur: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has sanctioned Rs12.21 crore from the state home ministry
funds for urgent repairs of
police quarters and
roads in Police Line Takli.
After a proposal was forwarded by the city police commissioner’s office for urgent works required, the matter was pursued by guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. The government order approving the funds was published recently, the minister’s office said.
Out of the sanctioned funds, the HUDCO-built buildings and structure at Takli will get ceiling re-plastered as well as tiles replaced at a cost of Rs3.24 crore. Around 450 police quarters will also get minor repairs for which Rs2.17 crore have been earmarked.
Another Rs3.64 crore are to be spent on D, E, F-type barracks being constructed besides internal roads of the police colony to be undertaken through PWD. Bawankule’s office claimed that funds he has been able to obtain in the last three years for police
housing and civil infrastructure was more as compared to that was sanctioned in the previous 15 years.
Bawankule has also managed to get Rs1.62 crore for district police related work proposals. Of this, Rs12 lakh are for Ramtek police outpost, Rs15 lakh for narcotics godown, Rs10 lakh for canteen at Katol, Rs25 lakh for police chowki at Kanholibara, Rs16 lakh for woman police barrack at Khapa.
Also, Rs32 lakh have been sanctioned for construction of Nandanvan police station in the city.
