CAROGA — A Gloversville man is facing drug charges after deputies discovered cocaine and cash on him during a traffic stop, the Fulton County Sheriff's Office said.

Stephen E. Dingman, of Route 29A, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of controlled substances and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, both felonies.

Deputies say they pulled over a car on Route 29A in Caroga late Sunday night for "suspicious activity." After talking with the driver and Dingman, the passenger, they decided to search the vehicle.

They said they learned Dingman had 1.76 ounces of cocaine and $829 on him. He was arrested, arraigned in Caroga Town Court and jailed on $25,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court again at a later date.
