The Ministry says on Jan. 4, a conservation officer was investigating reports of a man and a child on a snowmobile which was chasing a coyote on Stoney Lake, north of Peterborough.

The witness said the man was driving the snowmobile near the coyote for approximately five minutes.

“This included driving fast to catch up to the animal, following right behind it and driving ahead of it to cut it off,” the Ministry stated Thursday.

The investigation also revealed Little had been operating the snowmobile without proper permits, insurance or a helmet.

Little was fined $1,500 for using a vehicle to pursue wildlife; $500 for driving without a permit; $500 for driving without valid insurance and $500 for failing to wear a proper helmet while driving.
