‘Fortnite’ 1.50 (3.3) Update Adds C4, Llamas & Blitz Mode - Patch Notes

Fortnite update v3.3, or 1.50 on PS4, has finally arrived. It brings Llamas, C4 and the much-discussed Blitz Mode to Battle Royale. There are lots of changes to cover, so let’s dive into the patch notes below.

BATTLE ROYALE MAJOR CHANGES

  • Added sound for adding item to storage locker

That’s all the major changes in today’s update. It doesn’t have quite as many tweaks as in past weeks, but recent delays made the deployment process difficult. Even though 3.3 was expected to go live on Wednesday, a critical bug blocked its release for about 24 hours.

On the Save The World side, the biggest adjustments come from stat caps. With the new difficulty levels included in the previous patch, many campaign players felt the offline mode became severely unbalanced. Now, however, most of those changes have been reverted in favor of a model that allows stat caps to be higher in the most necessary places. It remains to be seen how well this new arrangement will work, but we’d guess that it’s better than the one that came before.

The C4 and Llamas of Battle Royale have been teased for a while now, so their addition shouldn’t be surprising. That being said, the chance to mess around with more loot and more weapons is hardly a bad thing. Blitz Mode accidentally featured in game menus several weeks ago, and now we finally know what it is. Get ready for some short-burst action!

Fortnite is in early access across PS4, Xbox One and PC. The 3.3 update should be going live across all platforms.
