The CPI would launch agitations if the authorities shift the statue of Telangana Armed Struggle martyr Anabheri Prabhakar Rao from the existing market area to other part of the town, warned CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy.
Participating in the 71st death anniversary of Anabheri Prabhakar Rao here on Wednesday, Mr. Reddy said they had installed Anabheri’s statue in the heart of Karimnagar town by securing all permissions, while the statue was unveiled by the then Chief Minister Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy in 1994 in the presence of senior Communist leaders Ch. Rajeshwara Rao, Deshini Chinna Mallaiah and others.
CPI district secretary K. Ramgopal Reddy demanded that the government install the statue of Anabheri on Tank Bunk in Hyderabad and include his struggle in the school curriculum.
Several CPI district leaders participated in the programme and paid rich tributes to Anabheri by garlanding his statue.
