A 31-year-old man allegedly killed his sister-in-law in northeast Delhi for talking to a person over phone despite his repeated warnings against it, the police said today.
This morning, the police were informed by the family members of a woman that she was found dead in Welcome area. Meanwhile, the woman's brother-in-law, Ram Karan, called up the police to inform them that he had killed her, they said.
After six hours, he surrendered and was arrested, a police official said.
During interrogation the accused told police that he had warned his sister-in-law to not talk to the man she had recently befriended. But despite his warnings, she continued to do so, the police said.
Last night, he came to his sister-in-law's room and found that she was talking to that man over phone. He again warned her and even threatened to inform her sister, but she started arguing with him. He pressed her neck with an iron needle and strangled her, they said.
Ram Karan, had earlier served a jail term in connection with the killing of his father-in-law, the police said, adding the father-in-law was killed as he had come to know that his wife was cheating on him.
