Man grievously injured in Lija accident

A 31-year-old man was grievously injured on Thursday during an accident in Lija.

The police said the accident, in Triq Vjal it-Transfigurazzjoni, took place at 7.15am.

The man, who is from Senegal but lives in Kirkop, was a passenger in a Land Rover Defender  that was being driven by a 25-year-old man from Kirkop.

The Land Rover was involved in a crash with a bus that was being driven by a 52-year-old man from Ħamrun.

Both the driver and passenger of the Land Rover were taken to hospital but the driver was released soon after he was certified not to be suffering from any injuries.
