Rekha Vyas, resident of Sola could not have thought that two women she had called in for
beauty treatment would turn out to be thieves. Vyas, wife of an
insurance agent Ravish on 11th March, 2018 discovered that gold jewellery worth over Rs. 330 lakh was missing from her cupboard.
The cops were also surprised that there were no indication of forced entry into the bungalow. However going through the
cctv footage of that day they found two women suspiciously moving around Vyas’s house.
Inspector
AD Parmar of city crime branch said this was big clue for them. “We activated our informers and on Wednesday got a tip off about Jigisha Panchal, 24 and
Darshita Fichadia, 24, both running beauty treatment business from home and also had an online appointment facility.
Crime branch officials said they picked up both the women on Thursday and got them interrogated by women police officials. “They confessed before us that Vyas had called them for facial treatment. There they found a bunch of keys lying on the table. Both of them looked at each other and Jigisha picked up the bunch of keys and put them in her purse” added a crime branch official.
Inspecator Parmar said the two then recced Vyas’s house thrice and on 11th March found the bungalow to be locked. “They opened the main door of the bungalow with the keys and then the cupboard. The quickly gathered gold jewellery and decamped after locking the main door of the bungalow” added Parmar.
Crime branch sources said they have recovered the stolen jewellery worth Rs 3.30 lakh from the duo. “Both the women, who are married have confessed before us they are thieves but severe financial crises forced them to commit the theft” added Inspector Parmar.
