Mr. Dhinakaran unveiled his party flag that had black, white and red stripes and the image of late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa at the centre.

R.K. Nagar MLA and party leader T.T.V. Dhinakaran announced his party name on Thursday. He named it Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam.

Apart from 18 expelled MLAs and Mr. Dhinakaran, other MLAs present at the launch of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam were A. Prabhu, Kallakurichi, V.T. Kalaiselvan, Vriddhachalam, and E.A. Rathinasabapathy, Aranthangi.
