The three-day Shivratri Sangeet Mahotsava, was a treat for the music lovers, who thronged the venue in large numbers.
The first day was marked by performances by danseuse Geeta Chandran, flute exponent Sushant Singh and vocalist Bhagirath Jalan. Geeta regaled the audience with a perfect synchronisation of facial expressions and body movements. She began her performance dedicated to Lord Shiva. Later, she presented Shiv stuti in Raag Hansadhwani. She also went on to depict leelas of Lord Krishna and Devi stuti.
The highlight of the second day of the festival was performance by Odissi exponent Sharmila Biswas and sitar maestro Shahid Parvez. Beginning her performance with raag-based Shiv Parvati shabdam, Sharmia and her troupe also gave an impressive presentation of Yashodha katha . Next to take on the stage was noted sitar exponent Shahid who based his performance on various raags including raag Rageshwari.
The festival concluded with artists Dr Kamla Shankar on slide guitar and Prahlad Singh Tipaniya, Kabir singer, who mesmerised the audience.
