S B Bommanahalli called upon consumers to approach the
district consumer forums to get their consumer-related issues redressed. Inaugurating the
International Consumer’s Day programme organized by the district administration in association with the
department of food,
civil supplies and consumer affairs, the District Consumer Information Centre and others at Srimati KS Jigalur Arts and Dr SM Sheshagiri Women’s Commerce College here on Thursday, he said that district consumer forums are playing a proactive role in protecting the interests of the consumers.
District principal and session’s judge Ramachandra Huddar said that more efforts were needed to create awareness among regarding the consumer’s rights. Winners of various competitions held in connection with the International Consumer’s Day programme were given prizes on the occasion. Students, staff of the college and officials were present during the programme.
