Buoyed by RJD's success in the Bihar by-polls, former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav, however, expressed his apprehension that there could be more misuse of the investigating agencies like the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Bihar and UP.
"I have this apprehension that with the BJP biting the dust in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the Centre will now go the whole hog in misusing the two investigating agencies - CBI and the ED - against the Opposition leaders from these two states," Tejashwi said here on Wednesday.
Youngest son of Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, Tejashwi had earlier faced charges of financial irregularities by the Income Tax department, CBI and the ED.
However, nothing much came out of the raids conducted last year. Although, Nitish Kumar severed ties with the RJD saying he can't run his government in coalition with those tainted.
"With today's verdict, those who are ruling at the Centre as well as in the state should see the writing on the wall. At the same time, the Congress should lend support to regional allies and help form an umbrella of non-BJP Opposition parties," said Tejashwi who rebuked Congress for fielding its candidate in Gorakhpur and Phulpur Lok Sabha seats in UP.
Tejashwi, who on Tuesday night attended the dinner hosted by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, said that Congress will have to be a large-hearted party in accommodating the aspirations of regional outfits if it wants to give the BJP a run for its money.
