CM accuses the party of thwarting development of Telangana since 1956

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has called the Congress party “Villain No. 1” and accused it of thwarting development of Telangana right since 1956.

During his address to the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, he questioned Congress’ “intolerance” and said the party has not changed a bit since the time the region was merged with Andhra Pradesh. He affirmed that the elected members from opposition parties were integrated into TRS solely for Telangana’s benefit. “It is my responsibility not only to achieve Telangana State, but also to stand Telangana in good stead politically,” Mr. Rao asserted, after a scathing diatribe against the opposition Congress, the members of which were either expelled or suspended from the legislature for unruly behaviour.

The Congress leaders have not evolved from their “dependent” status since merger of Telangana with Andhra Pradesh by the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, and continue to pawn self-respect at the altar of power, positions, and selfish interests, the Chief Minister accused.
