According to ESPN, the Patriots have reached a 2-year deal with Nate Ebner on Tuesday night.

A second-team All-Pro in 2016, Ebner led the Patriots with 19 special teams tackles. The safety had his season cut short in 2017 after nine games due to a torn ACL. At that point, Ebner was leading the Patriots in special teams tackles (eight). The 29-year-old was drafted in the sixth round in 2012. He also made headlines in 2016 for playing rugby for the US national team at the Summer Olympics.

Ebner marks the third special teams player that the Patriots have re-signed this season, joining Brandon Bolden and Brandon King. Earlier on Tuesday, the Boston Herald reported that the team was also expected to re-sign special teams captain Matthew Slater.
