Samaj Parivartana Samudaya (SPS) has urged the BJP to drop entrepreneur Rajeev Chandrasekhar as its candidate for the elections to the Rajya Sabha from the State till he comes clean in the alleged Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) land scam.
SPS founder-president S.R. Hiremath told reporters here on Tuesday that Mr. Chandrasekhar was 98% stockholder in PVK Koramangala, which is one of the three entities that received 30 years’ lease of nearly 2 acres and 16.74 guntas of land from the KMF in 2008. Later, PVK Koramangala entered into a joint development agreement with Mantri Habitat Pvt. Ltd. for the construction of KMF commercial complex, he said. While PVK Koramangala got 44% of the super built-up area and ₹9 crore, Mantri Habitat retained 56% of the super built-up area.
“However, the KMF received nothing in this deal,” he alleged.
“There are possibilities of further extensions of the lease as the provision for one extension (of 10 years) is made”, he said.
‘Facts in public domain’
Reacting to this, Priyadarshini S.K., senior communications manager from the office of Mr. Chandrasekhar, said, “This is repeat of a previously tried hit job against Mr. Chandrasekhar by the Congress as his fight for better and transparent governance has been causing distress to the corrupt Congress politicians.” She said, “The facts regarding KMF investment are in public domain and open for scrutiny.”
