Pakistan's ruling (PML-N) has elected Punjab province Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif as its president.
Islamabad:
Ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's younger brother Shahbaz was elected (PML-N) president on Tuesday, two weeks after his appointment as interim chief of the party.
He was elected unopposed during Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's (PML-N) general council meeting held.
Mr Nawaz Sharif was last month barred from leading a political party following his disqualification by the Pakistan Supreme Court in Panama Papers case.
