Brexit Bulletin: The Hof's association agenda takes off

Good afternoon.
As MPs get stuck into their two days of “general debate” about Brexit, what could matter more to the negotiations is what their European counterparts decided today in Brussels. Members of the European Parliament will be undoubtedly happy to know that, given they have been keen to be seen as an influential part of the process.
Their sensitivity was exemplified by their president Antonio Tajani, who is reported to have decided to go on British TV to dismiss the UK's offer for the so-called divorce bill as "peanuts" because he was annoyed about how much attention Guy Verhofstadt was getting.
