With an aim to seal their place in the final, India would like to dish out a superlative performance when they face Bangladesh in the fifth T20I of the Nidahas Trophy today. Rohit Sharma-led India suffered an unexpected defeat against Sri Lanka in the tournament opener and it is highly unlikely that India will experiment against a resurgent Bangladesh in their final league stage match. A defeat may not be an end of the road for India as it will then depend on the outcome of the final game between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Net run-rate will also be a factor. With back-to-back victories in the last two games, India have a healthy net run-rate of +0.21. (Live Scorecard)
For India, the tournament at the beginning was about giving youngsters a chance in the absence of seasoned players. A few players such as Deepak Hooda, Mohammed Siraj, Axar Patel are yet to play a game in the tournament, which means the purpose of sending a second string side has not been fully served. Hooda, for instance, did not get to play even during the home series against Sri Lanka despite being included in the 15-member squad.

Bangladesh were never in this to be honest. Right from the first ball. It's evident from the fact that they only managed to get three wickets, with two coming in the final over of the innings. Rubel Hossain was the standout bowler, having picked up 2 wickets for just 27 runs in his 4-over spell, while Nazmul Islam was good as well. The rest weren't quite up to the mark and leaked runs. The run chase won't be easy now, despite the wicket known to ease out for the batters as the game progresses. Let's see how it unfolds. Join us in a short while.
The Men in Blue have a more than satisfactory total on the board. Being put into bat and given the wicket, they needed a good start and that's what they got. Questions were raised about Rohit Sharma's form and today he came out to prove everyone wrong. Make no mistake, he struggled, but he toughened it out there and eventually started to middle it towards the end. He first formed a 70-run stand with Shikhar Dhawan to set the tone, then blew the Tigers away with Suresh Raina, who came in and thwarted the bowlers without wasting any time. The century stand with Raina, in which Rohit almost got to his ton, was enough to propel them past the 170-mark and be in a comfortable position.

Rubel Hossain to Rohit Sharma
OUT! Rohit Sharma is run out! Misses out on a ton and this is an excellent over from Rubel Hossain. Conceded just 4 off it. Full on off, Rohit smashes it hard back to him. Rubel stops it, and since it's the last ball of the over, the batsmen run. This allows the bowler to run back and take the bails off. Rohit is out but it's been a superb knock to say the least from him. INDIA FINISH ON 176/3!

Rubel Hossain to Dinesh Karthik
Superb ball. Beautiful delivery as Rubel spears it in the blockhole. Karthik jams it out through to sweeper cover and takes one.

Rubel Hossain to Rohit Sharma
Stifled appeal, but the inside edge has saved Sharma there. Inswinging yorker on middle and leg, the batsman swings and gets an edge onto his pads before taking the run.

Rubel Hossain to Dinesh Karthik
Quite full, swinging in, smacked down to long on by going deep inside the crease. Karthik is off the mark.

Rubel Hossain to Rohit Sharma
Short of a good length angling in, hits Sharma on the body as he misses his pull. A leg bye is taken as the ball falls on the off side.
Dinesh Karthik to walk in next to bat.

Rubel Hossain to Suresh Raina
OUT! Suresh Raina just misses out on his fifty! Bit unfortunate, played exceptionally well, fully deserved it. But, he's done his job nonetheless. Full on the pads, Raina lofts it over mid-wicket. Not enough distance on this one as it's into the hands of Soumya Sarkar who takes it after moving to his left.
Rubel Hossain to bowl the last over of the innings.
