Chinese smartphone maker company Xiaomi has unveiled its compact smartphone Redmi 5 in Indian markets today. Prior, the company unveiled this handset in Chinese markets in 2017.

Talking about the price of phone, 2GB RAM variant of Xiaomi Redmi 5 involves price tag of Rs 7,999, whereas 3GB and 4GB RAM variant costs Rs 8,999 and Rs 10,999 correspondingly. The customers will be able to purchase this phone from March 20 in black, lake blue, gold, rose gold color variants from e-commerce platform Amazon.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 has a metal unibody design. It comes with thin bezels and features 5.7-inch HD+ LCD display that comes with a pixel resolution of 1440×720. It involves 18:9 aspect ratio.

On the other hand, Redmi Note 5 supports Snapdragon 625 SoC and Redmi 5 features an octa-core Snapdragon 450 chipset. Redmi 5 involves 2GB RAM/16GB storage and 3GB or 4GB RAM with 32GB storage. The cellphone supports Adreno 506 GPU

Redmi 5 boasts 12-megapixel sensor at the back with phase detection autofocus, video recording feature. On the front, it has 5-megapixel camera that comes with 1080p video recording. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 4G with VoLTE calling, NFC.

Redmi 5 has handset runs MIUI 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. It supports 3,300mAh battery to give power to phone.
