Shami's wife seeks police protection
kolkata: Mohammed Shami's wife Hasin Jahan, who lodged a case against her husband for domestic violence and accused him of multiple extramarital affairs, on Tuesday sought personal security from Kolkata Police. Jahan claimed she was at the receiving end of constant abuses and threats through social media accounts since her differences with Shami became public and sought West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's "support" on the issue. "She is feeling insecure while going somewhere due to a massive number of threats and abuses she has been receiving on the social media. The accounts may or may not be fake. Today, she went to Kolkata Police headquarters Lalbazar and asked for personal security as she is feeling extremely insecure while going somewhere," her lawyer Zakir Hussain told IANS.
Amol Muzumdar appointed as Royals batting coach
jaipur: Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday announced the appointment of former domestic cricket stalwart Amol Muzumdar as their batting coach ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League season. The Royals said Muzumdar would bring with him immense experience and quality needed to help young and established names fine-tune their batting skills. He, along with Head of Cricket Zubin Bharucha and bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule, will oversee Rajasthan Royals' first camp from March 13 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Chennaiyin beat FC Goa 3-0, to face Bengaluru in ISL final
chennai: Chennaiyin FC outplayed FC Goa 3-0 with a dominant performance in the second leg of the Indian Super League (ISL) semifinal to advance to the final against Bengaluru FC on 4-1 aggregate here on Tuesday. Jeje Lalpheklua, who struck twice, was the star of the match as he scored in the 26th and 90th minutes to guide CFC into its second ISL final. The Chennai side had won the title in 2015. Local lad Dhanapal Ganesh found the back of the net with a superb header in the 29th minute to put the team 2-0 ahead at the Nehru Stadium. Chennaiyin now face Bengaluru FC at the grand finale on March 17 at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore. Bengaluru FC had beaten FC Pune City on 3-1 aggregate in the other double leg semifinals.
shardul & co win memorial t20 league
new delhi: Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co won the inaugural edition of Suresh and Bharati Shroff Memorial T20 Cricket League. Sent to bat by the Bar Council of India (BCI) team, the SAM & Co team scored 137/7 in its designated 20 overs. In response, the BCI team scored 128/4 in 20 overs, in a closely fought match. Earlier in the semi-finals, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co beat AZB & Partners while Bar Council of India beat Khaitan & Co to reach the finals.
