The 500 guests who attended Delaware Technical Community College's 14th annual Mardi Gras Gala March 3 helped raise more than $110,000 to support student scholarships. That brings the gala's 14-year total to $1.4 million. The money helps students in need pay for tuition, books and other essentials while attending Del Tech, the state's only community college. This year, partygoers at the George Campus in Wilmington were treated to New Orleans-style music, entertainment and food, as well as music from The Blind Date Band, wine and beer glass painting, tarot card readings, dueling pianos and line dancing.
