NEW DELHI: Punjab National Bank (number of shares traded: 1.10 crore), State Bank of India (0.25 crore) and Ashok Leyland (0.15 crore) were among the most traded stocks on NSE in morning trade on Wednesday.

Indian Oil Corporation (0.15 crore), Bank of Baroda (0.14 crore), PFC (0.13 crore), Vedanta (0.11 crore), Hindustan Zinc (0.11 crore), SAIL (0.08 crore), YES Bank (0.07 crore), ICICI Bank (0.07 crore) and ITC (0.07 crore) were also among the most traded stocks on NSE.

Equity benchmarks registered a negative opening tracking global cues.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 40 points down at 10,387, while the BSE Sensex was down 114 points at 33,743 around 09:30 am (IST).

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 pack, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of Tech Mahindra, Ambuja Cements, HCL Technologies, UltraTech Cement and Tata Consultancy Services were among the top gainers in the Nifty index.

On the contrary, Bharti Infratel, State Bank of India, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Hindalco Industries, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone and Tata Steel were among the top losers in the Nifty pack of stocks.
