Chandra H.S, killed during the Maoist encounter, was a native of Haradaoor in Arkalgudu taluk

Chandra H.S, a native of Haradaoor in Arkalgudu taluk, is one among nine CRPF men who were killed in an ambush by Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Tuesday.

The son of Swamy Gowda and Kalamma, he joined the CRPF five years ago. He is survived by his wife, parents and two brothers.

Chandra had married Pruthvi, a native of Maragowdanahalli in Arkalgudu taluk, a year ago. His wife is seven months pregnant. The family members received the information of the incident on Tuesday evening and have not yet come out of the shock.

The villagers do remember his last visit to the village to take part in the house-warming ceremony held on March 8. His two brothers have built houses in the village. He had returned to duty after the ceremony. It is not clear when his mortal remains would reach his native place.
