The West Bengal Chief Minister congratulates BSP, SP and RJD chiefs for the bypoll victories.

West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday welcomed the results of bypolls in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and said that the “beginning of the end has started" for Bharatiya Janata Party [BJP]. She also congratulated Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) leader Mayawati.

“Great victory. Congratulations to Mayawati Ji and @yadavakhilesh Ji for #UPByPolls. The beginning of the end has started,” Ms Banerjee tweeted.

Samajawadi Party nominees with the support of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) won bypolls in Gorakhpur and Phulpur Lok sabha seats. Ms Banerjee, who has been one most vocal supporters of opposition unity, also congratulated RJD president Lalu Prasad, whose party retained the Araria Lok Sabha seat and Jehanabad Assembly seat.

“Congratulations to @laluprasadrjd Ji for winning #Araria and #Jehanabad. This is a great victory,” the Chief Minister said.
