'Monster Hunter World' Spring Update: Patch Notes, Deviljho, 'Mega Man' Outfits And More
Monster Hunter World’s Spring Update was revealed by Capcom in a livestream last night. The update includes a number of exciting things, including the release date of Deviljho, the Spring Blossom Festival, a Mega Man outfit for Palicoes and more.
The World Eater, aka Devilhjo, will join Monster Hunter World on March 22. This thing looks incredibly dangerous, so make sure you bring your A game when challenging it. However, those who do manage to slay the beast will be rewarded with crafting parts capable of creating two new armor sets, as well as new weapons such as a sword and shield, Charge Blade, Bow and more.

The Spring Update will also bring the Spring Blossom Festival to Monster Hunter World. This event starts on April 5 at 5 p.m. EDT and runs to April 18 at 8 p.m. During the Spring Blossom Festival, the Celestial Pursuit will be decorated and the staff dressed to the nines. A new food platter will be cooking for hungry characters and special events will run daily.
Additionally, the Spring Update adds some new content, including an awesome Mega Man costume for Palicoes. The costume is available from April 13 to April 27, so make sure you get one for yourself. Materials to make the community-created Wyvern Ignition Great Sword unlock on April 6.
Patch Notes
Weapon update and gameplay stability notes are included below. Changes will go live on March 22, along with the Devilhjo content. More specific patch notes will be released once the update is pushed live.
Great Sword: increased the damage for Charged Slash abilities.
Long Sword: improvements to Foresight Slash input timing and hitbox detection.
Sword & Shield: Roundslash damage increased and improved slinger usability
Dual Blades: adjustments to help maintain Demon Gauge active
Hammer: adjusted the stun values on charged attacks
Hunting Horn: general attack power increase
Lance: Counter-thrust adjustment to increase ease of use
Gunlance: reduced sharpness loss for shelling, and made some attack power increases
Switch Axe: Zero Sum Discharge adjustments to increase ease of use
Charge Blade: balance adjustments to Impact Phial and Power Element Phial
Insect Glaive: improvements to extract attack power increase and extract effect length
Bow: fixed various bugs
Light Bowgun: no adjustments were made
Heavy Bowgun: no adjustments were made
Attacks from allies no longer interrupt you during the carving animation. Additionally, players are now immune to all hit reactions, including bombs, during carving animations after quest completion.
Added "Return to Gathering Hub" (single player) and "Disband & Return to Gathering Hub" (multiplayer) to the options for "Select Return Destination" after a quest has been completed.
Added the "Text Size" setting for changing subtitle text size, under Start Menu > Options Game Settings.
Players will also have the opportunity to change a character’s appearance with the new update. Note that this opportunity will be free for the first use, but will cost money to use again after that. A list of what players can and cannot edit is as follows:
CAN EDIT:
Hunter gender;
Hunter physical appearance (skin tone, features, etc.);
Hunter cosmetic appearance (hairstyle, facepaint, etc.). Note you can already do these at any time;
CANNOT EDIT:
Hunter name;
Palico name;
Palico appearance;
