First phase showed 93 % records were clean, Minister tells Council

Deputy Chief Minister Mohd. Mahmood Ali has said that about 6.5 lakh agricultural land records that are locked in disputes and litigations will be resolved and updated soon.

Replying to a query in the Legislative Council here on Wednesday, Mr. Mahmood Ali, who is also the Revenue Minister, said that about 93 % of land records were found to be clean and updated in the purification and updation of land records taken up across the State last year. Of 2.56 crore acres surveyed, 2.39 crore acres (93 %) were found to be clean. The remaining pending seven % of land records with disputes would be taken up for purification under the Part B of the survey, he said.

Thanks to the survey taken up after 1930, government was now clear about the extent of land in its possession, assigned lands, wakf lands and endowment lands, among others.

MLC Paturi Sudhakar Reddy said that there were still some cases where records were not being updated though a person sold four acres of land to another person 50 years ago. But the IB record still showed the four acres he sold still in his name. The issue was brought to the notice of concerned officers but the updation was not done. The Minister assured the member that the issue would be addressed.

Archaka salaries

Endowments Minister Indrakaran Reddy has said that the government was paying PRC scales on par with State employees to about 4,700 qualified categories of Archakas and other temple employees who are presently working on full time basis in 646 assessable institutions. Another 6,000 acrchakas and temple employees also requested for payment of wages through Treasury and after an inquiry about their eligibility, a decision would be taken in two or three months.
