Aamir Khan talks about working with Amitabh Bachchan for the first time: 'It’s a dream come true'

Aamir Khan is undoubtedly one of the best actors in Bollywood. He has been in movies that have become cult classics, like Andaz Apna Apna, Rangeela, Lagaan and Dil Chahta Hai; inspired a generation of youngsters, like Rang De Basanti, 3 Idiots, and Taare Zameen Par; and shattered box-office records, like Ghajini, PK and Dangal.

Khan has been capturing audiences around the world with his unique brand of cinema that relies on the story and its characters rather than selling the movie based solely on star power. Another such actor who has been part of cult classics and movies that rely heavily of its plot rather than the appeal of celebrity is Amitabh Bachchan.

Bachchan, who has been in the movie industry for almost 50 years now, has never acted alongside Aamir Khan. The other two Khans — Salman and Shah Rukh — have both shared the screen space with Bachchan. But, now, Aamir Khan will be seen on the big screen with Amitabh Bachchan in Yash Raj Films' next project Thugs of Hindostan.

In an interview with DNA, Aamir Khan shared his thoughts on working with the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan for the very first time. Khan said, "Working with Mr Bachchan was my dream and I’m really happy that I’m living it right now. I’m like a child in a toy shop and he is a complete joy to work with. His ability as an actor, his concentration, the effort that he puts in, his focus towards his work and above all, the kind of person he is, all this makes it a very enriching and memorable experience for me. So, it’s a dream come true."

Aamir Khan, who turns 53 today (14 March), also said that he hopes Amitabh Bachchan is the first one to wish him on his birthday as both the actors will be on the sets of Thugs of Hindostan.

Thugs of Hindostan also stars Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ronit Roy, Shashank Arora, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Satyadev Kancharana, and Ila Arun. It will hit theaters on 7 November.
