Business Professionals of America students at Buckeye Career Center qualified for nationals at the March 8-9 state leadership conference.
BCC national qualifiers are computer technology/network systems students Aaron Albaugh, Alex Mann and Zane Robertson and Sydney Sinkovich; and business program students Peyton Miller, Bethany Rider and Karson Schrock.
Albaugh, Robertson and Sinkovich placed second in network design team, Mann placed fourth in system administration with Microsoft, Miller placed third in payroll accounting, Rider placed fourth in banking and finance and Schrock placed fourth in payroll accounting.
Buckeye Business Academy East Holmes campus qualifiers are Josh Garber, Thomas Troyer, Micah Troyer, Kerri Miller, Mary Beth Mullet, Anson Troyer, Treva Beachy and Joshua Yoder, who made up the first-place parliamentary procedure team.
Students who placed in the top 10 of their respective categories but failed to qualify for nationals are BCC computer technology/network systems students William Abel, Robert Dotson and Tristan Steinbach; and East Holmes campus students Treva Beachy, Josh Garber, Abe Hershberger, Caleb Miller, Chris Miller, Grace Miller, Josiah Miller, Micah Troyer, Thomas Troyer and Joshua Yoder.
Students from the East Holmes campus also received statesman-level Torch Awards, including Treva Beachy, Josh Garber, Chris Miller, Josiah Miller, Mary Beth Mullet, Diane Sclabach, Annie Shetler, Micah Troyer, Thomas Troyer, Rachel Weaver, Joshua Yoder and Karlin Yoder. The East Holmes campus also was one of seven chapters in Ohio to earn the BPA Chapter Activities Award of Excellence.
