Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy on Tuesday stressed the need for effective utilisation of funds under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP) meant for the welfare of Adi-Dravidars.
Chairing a review meeting at the Chief Secretariat, he reviewed the progress of various schemes and utilisation of funds sanctioned under the scheme for 2017-18 till February.
Mr. Narayanasamy said that the funds under the SCSP should be utilised for the purposes that benefit the targeted group and should not be diverted to other schemes. Welfare Minister M. Kandasamy, Chief Secretary Ashwani Kumar and officials attended the meeting.
Earlier in the day, he also chaired the district-level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee meeting for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The investigation of pending cases, compensation and rehabilitation of victims were discussed.
