Russia shows great enthusiasm for Croatian tourism

With more than 1,972 participating companies representing international destinations, it is a significant meeting place for the sector and simultaneously a chance to draw level with colleagues and clients.

 
In the sidelines with HTZ as the key exhibitor, Zagreb Tourist Office, Plitvice Lakes National Park, Losinj Hotels and Villas and Atlantis Travel were also present at the fair.

 
To quote HTZ Director Kristjan Stanicic, “although Russian tourists are booking their vacations relatively late, we are looking forward to positive indicators for this year and good announcements from tour operators. Based on this information, we are confident that in 2018 we will record more than 200,000 arrivals of Russian tourists.”

 
Rajko Ruzicka, director of Russia HTZ office, explained that on the basis of few prelude of reports and meetings, the importance of Croatia is emerging and positive tendencies can be anticipated.

 
In 2017, Croatia welcomed 133,000 arrivals and 955,000 overnights by Russian tourists. This implies an up of 12 percent and 10 percent respectively. It has been calculated that direct flights to the cities of Croatia and Russia will be imperative for maintaining the positive trends.
