SANTA CLARA, Calif. and PARIS, March 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- 6WIND, a high-performance networking software company, today announced that ÚVT Internet s. r. o., an Internet Service Provider based in the Czech Republic, successfully replaced its Brocade Vyatta vRouters with 6WIND's Turbo Router software appliances. Upon receiving the end-of-sale and end-of-support notification for Brocade's vRouters, ÚVT evaluated 6WIND's Turbo Router as a replacement option to meet immediate requirements for its growing ISP business.

ÚVT tested 6WIND's vRouter for both features and performance as an ISP edge router. The feature configuration test included a BGP link to upstream traffic and an OSPF link to downstream traffic, IPv4/IPv6 IP Forwarding, Dynamic Routing and NAT. The performance test included IPv4 Forwarding and NAT with Mellanox 40G NICs. After completing successful tests, ÚVT made two separate purchases of 6WIND Turbo Router to meet its constantly growing IP traffic requirements.

6WIND's vRouter is a high performance software router for bare metal and virtual machine deployments on Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) servers. It includes routing, firewall, NAT and IPsec VPN features. Based on DPDK (Data Plane Development Kit), 6WIND's vRouter delivers performance up to 12 Mpps per core of IP Forwarding, 12 Gbps per core of IPsec, up to 1 million routes and 100,000 tunnels. Management options include CLI, XML or Linux tools, including orchestration by Cloudify Manager and monitoring by Grafana.

"As a growing Internet Service Provider, we need reliable, high performance routing infrastructure to meet our customers' demands," said Petr Dvořák, CEO for ÚVT Internet s. r. o. "Upon learning of the end of sale and support for Brocade's Vyatta vRouter, we were relieved to learn of 6WIND's replacement campaign. 6WIND's Turbo Router successfully replaced our Brocade vRouters with the necessary features and performance to serve our customers."

"We created our Brocade Vyatta replacement campaign to help companies such as ÚVT Internet with a successful transition to 6WIND's vRouter," said Eric Carmès, Founder and CEO of 6WIND. "We are proud to announce ÚVT's successful migration and our opportunity to work together for repeat business in a very short turn-around time."

6WIND's replacement program for Brocade's Vyatta vRouters remains in effect for the first half of 2018. 6WIND vRouter licenses are priced per performance from 1G to 100G.
