Tuesday warmest day in Delhi so far

The national capital on Tuesday saw the warmest day of the year so far with maximum recorded at 36.2 degree Celsius, seven notches above the season's average.

Chances of a major respite are not much, say officials.

Some areas of experienced more heat with 37.5 degrees recorded at Palam and 36.5 degree each at Ridge area and Ayanagar, the (IMD) said.

Tuesday's minimum settled at 17.1 degrees, two notches above the season's average.

Last year on March 13, the maximum was recorded at 24 degree

"This is the warmest day of the year so far. may fall slightly by tomorrow (Wednesday), but would anyway remain around 34 or 35 degrees," the IMD said.

According to analysts, while a respite is likely around March 15 and 16, with slight probability of light rain showers in and neighbouring regions, mercury will soon rise.

"It can reach 39 degree by the end of the month," Mahesh Palawat, private group told IANS.

According to Skymet, while parts of Himalayas saw snowfall and will see more again towards March 15 , could not see respite from heat due to depression over the

"The depression over is cutting off the cold northerly winds and thus is unable to benefit," Palawat said.

The humidity on Tuesday oscillated at 21 to 71 percent.

Monday's maximum was recorded at 34.4 degrees while the minimum was 16.4 degree
