Ferrari FXX K Evo Looks Absolutely Wild on Track
In late 2017 Ferrari pulled the wraps off of its most extreme car to date: the FXX K Evo.
The FXX K Evo took to the track for the first time since its October debut this past weekend during Ferrari Racing Days at Circuit of the Americas. The annual COTA stop kicked off Ferrari’s customer racing program for 2018, which allows well-to-do racing enthusiasts to track former Ferrari F1 cars and vehicles from its XX program. This year, three customers took delivery of their FXX K Evo at the event and were able to lap the Formula 1-ready COTA circuit in the cars on the same day.

The FXX K Evo is essentially a high downforce aero-kit for the LaFerrari-based FXX K track car. It features a two-profile fixed rear wing, which is joined by a prominent new stabilizer fin running down the spine of the vehicle. The rear fascia was redesigned to dispel air more quickly from the rear wheel arches, while a new front fascia with carbon canards was applied as well. Ferrari says the FXX K Evo makes 23 percent more downforce than the standard FXX K and is capable of generating over 1,830 pounds of downforce from 124 mph.
As you can tell from the gallery embedded above, the FXX K Evo makes the standard FXX K like tame by comparison. It’s not clear if all FXX K models are destined to become FXX K Evos, but we imagine that some buyers didn’t want the high-downforce aero pack.
The FXX K Evo will enjoy its second track outing when Ferrari Racing Days continue with a test at Road Atlanta, which will occur just ahead of another event at Imola in late April.
