Congress plans to approach President on expulsions

more-in

The Congress party is contemplating to approach President Ramnath Kovind on the expulsion of two of its members and also suspension of all their party members from the Assembly.

A senior leader said the party plans to seek an appointment with the President during their three-day stay in New Delhi as a part of the Congress plenary. However, they plan to discuss the issue with the AICC leadership before approaching the President. The party also wants to use the expulsion to go to the people and conduct massive public programmes in Nalgonda and Alampur that are represented by Mr. Venkata Reddy and Sampath Kumar. “This is to expose the dictatorial ruling of the TRS and also use the sympathy factor in their favour,” a senior leader said.
