Cardamom futures fall 1.16% on profit-booking

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

prices fell 1.16 per cent to Rs 1,070 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid easing demand in the spot markets. Besides, sufficient stocks on higher arrivals from the major producing regions too weighed on the prices. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, for delivery in April contract fell by Rs 12.60, or 1.16 per cent, to Rs 1,070 per kg, in a business turnover of 96 lots. Similarly, the spice for delivery in the current month edged down by Rs 11.90, or 1.05 per cent, to Rs 1,120 per kg, with trading volume of 4 lots. Marketmen said besides profit-taking by speculators at existing levels, increased arrivals from producing regions, mainly put pressure on prices in the futures market.
