Deal with William O’Neil to get the best in research, rankings for our clients: IIFL

Partnership with William O'Neil help IIFL receive ratings and rankings of 4000 domestic companies, said Nirmal Jain.

India Infoline has partnered with global research and Fund House William O' Neil to provide research on over 4,000 Indian Stocks.

The partnership for IIFL is with an aim to expand product offerings and to go to next level of digitization. They also aim to bolster IIFL Markets APP services.

The IIFL Market APP contributes about 35 percent of broking revenues.

William O’Neil is a 50-year firm founded by the legendary American investor William J O’Neil. The company has a research unit in India based on fundamental and technical analysis.

To discuss the partnership in detail, CNBC-TV18 spoke to Nirmal Jain, Chairman, IIFL and Steven Birch, President and CEO, William O'Neil.

Jain said they will receive ratings and rankings of 4000 domestic companies. He said the William O’Neil uses big data and artificial intelligence and develop models that give good results.

Going forward Quant will become a very important part of traders and investors strategy, said Jain, adding that all this is with an aim to get the best in the world for our clients and investors, said Jain.

Talking on markets, Birch said globally they are bullish on US market and the Indian market even though it has been through a correction.

The strength shown in the US and Indian markets have turned the technical indicators bullish and so we are in a confirmed uptrend, said Birch.

He said people that use MarketSmith application can see specific names that are likely to outperform in this type of environment.

Birch also spoke about the history of William O’Neil. He said they are excited about the partnership because it gives clients who use the IIFL App access to MarketSmith Research, which is very topical and timely.

The house also uses lot of quantitative research, artificial intelligence and machine learning to drive their ratings and rankings, said Birch.

He said India is a fascinating growth market and an over-researched one.
