With almost who’s who of the State BJP being present during the filing of nomination of Anil Baluni, former Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna and his legislator son Saurabh gave it a miss, triggerring an instant tongue wagging in the party and the political circles.
The absence of the veteran leader was not surprising to many.
They said that Bahuguna remaining a front runner among the aspirants, the high command’s move might have stung him hard.
It was widely believed following the coup he led against the Congress CM Harish Rawat that he would be rewarded with the RS seat.
But the hope perhaps nurtured by him has proved a chimera.
