A friendly Ladies' cricket match between Korba and Sipat was held at Mansarovar Stadium, Korba on Sunday as part of International Women's Day celebrations in which Sipat team won the match by five wickets, a company press release informed on Monday.
Winning the toss, Sipat team chose to field first and against a target of 59 in 10 overs, the Sipat team won the match in the last over by five wickets.
Lily Chaudhury of Sipat was adjudged as Woman-of-the-match. The members of Sipat team were : Lily Chowdhury( Captain), Savita Rai, Prinyanaka Meena, Subasini Bara(Vice Captain), Chitrakala, Richa Jaiswal, Suchitra, Neetu Jha, Nisha Prakasha, Shalini Pathak, Richa Singh, Shivani Varsney, Sudipta Sarkara, Sanjeeta Singh. Tanushri Samanata, President, Sangawari Mahila Samiti is the Mentor of the Team whereas Gurmeet Singh Atwal and Dr Abinash Pathaka were the Coach and Manager of the Team.
Tanushree Samanta, president, Sangwari Mahila Samiti, Sipat and Nupur Sinha, President, Maitri Mahila Samiti, Korba were present along with Niraj Kumar Sinha, ED, Korba, Basuraj Goswami, GM (FM), Asit Dutta, GM (Operation) and representatives of Unions/Associations at the match site.
Asim Kumar Samanta, GGM, NTPC Sipat, V K Rastogi and Anant Varshney , President and Secretary, Sports Council, NTPC Sipat welcomed the winning Team at Sipat .
