Chhattisgarh: 8 CRPF jawans killed, 6 injured as naxals blow up van in Sukma

Eight personnel of CRPF 's 212 battalion were martyred today in an IED (improvised explosive device) blast by Naxals in Kistaram area of Chhattisgarh's Sukma district.

Six CRPF personnel have also been injured in the Naxal attack, out of which four are in critical condition, reported news agency ANI.

According to sources, the CRPF jawans were ambushed by Naxals in Kistaram area and it was a landmine blast near army's mine-proof vehicle.

DM Awasthi, Special DG, Naxal operations, said extra force has been deployed at the spot.

An encounter operation was launched against the Maoists around 8.30 in the morning, said police.
