Tirupur: Kausalya, the widow of slain dalit V Shankar, has called for unity among the political parties and organisations which were fighting for caste abolition.

She made the appeal at the inauguration ceremony of Shankar Samooga Needhi Foundation in Udumalpet on the second death anniversary of Shankar.

“Though many people are fighting for caste abolition, we are separated. We all should come together to ensure that a law against honour killings is passed soon. Abolition of caste is essential for upliftment of the society,” said Kausalya. tnn
